Change making into my public speaking.

The first time I presented I was very nervous and felt my hand shaking about the upcoming presentation. I felt so much anxiety because I was scared how much I’ll forget what I’ll need to say.   People tend to feel anxious about public speaking, yet I discovered through my entire course study that public speaking functions as a highly effective form of communication which can create essential social transformations. The beginning of my course studies showed me that public speaking made me feel anxious, and I discovered that delivering my brief speech created a fearsome challenge. The public speaking practice during the course has helped me develop greater comfort with delivering speeches, while I have found the course to provide useful skills for public speaking and social impact through various means of communication. The most significant lesson I have learned during my whole course study shows that practice creates major improvements. The first time I presented I was very n...

adriana pineiro post #2 changemakers

Last   week  our    class completed a series of presentations about changemakers people who have made a positive impact on the world by creating change in their communities, this  country,  or even globally. Each student researched and presented a different person who helped improve society in some way. These presentations were not only  informative but  also inspiring because they showed how individuals can make a difference through courage, creativity, and determination. Listening to my classmates talk about different changemakers helped me understand that change can happen in many different fields, including civil rights, science, education,  music, and  environmental protection.  For  me  one of the most interesting  parts of  the presentations was learning about the  different backgrounds  of the changemakers. Some of them were well known historical figures, while others were modern leaders ...

Alejandro Torres, 1900s blog

Watching all of the group presentations in class was a very interesting and valuable experience for me. The presentations focused on important people who had an impact in the United States. These individuals did not necessarily have to be born in the United States, but they had to influence the country in some way. The figures included presidents, singers, bands, scientists, doctors, and other people who helped shape American society. What made the project even more interesting was that the presentations were organized by historical time periods. Each group was assigned a different century to explore. One group presented important figures from the 1700s, another group focused on the 1800s, my group presented about the 1900s, and the final group talked about influential people from the 2000s. This structure helped us understand how different individuals influenced the country at different moments in history. The group that presented the 1700s focused on figures connected to the e...

By Maite Arbucias Changemaker Blog:     The history of the United States is made up of important events across different centuries, especially during the 16 th century into the 2000’s. Many of these events were accomplished by individuals who made a significant impact through their creativity, contribution, and leadership. Many of these change makers influenced society in ways that still impact today. They were not only a part of our political, social and cultural history, they were its beginning.   The 1700’s were the foundation of the United States which focused on the importance of freedom and government, which was new at the time. The 1700’s were the beginning of new laws and systems that would protect the citizens and will allow them to have a voice. These early efforts shaped the way society works today.   Citizens were learning how to live under new laws and freedoms. The community was figuring out how to work together to build communities.   The 1800’s w...

Francisco Miranda Changemaker Blog

Throughout this project, I had the opportunity to watch presentations focused on changemakers from four different centuries: the 1700s, 1800s, 1900s, and 2000s. Each group approached their presentation differently, but they all shared a common goal of showing how individuals and groups influenced society in their time. Watching these presentations helped me understand how change has evolved across centuries, while also giving me insight into how different groups worked together to present their ideas. At the same time, completing my own group presentation reminded me that working in groups is not my favorite, but sometimes it is necessary to get the job done. The presentation on the 1700s focused on early changemakers who helped shape foundational ideas for society. This century was centered around the creation of new systems and ways of thinking. The presentation highlighted how people during this time challenged authority and introduced ideas about freedom, structure, and rights. Wha...
